What is Tool Deflection in CNC Machining

If you’ve ever wondered what tool deflection is, Stoney CNC is the expert when it comes to providing you with a reasonable explanation.

Notice how there is always a hole that is smaller at the bottom than the top once you have milled a hole into it, using high-speed machinery? The reason for this is that the tool deflects. Tool deflection occurs once the tool is forced to bend.

Unfortunately, there is no way to reduce the bending, it can only be controlled and reduced. We offer a range of systems which are exclusive to us at Stoney CNC, one being Step craft.

Step craft CNC systems are used to create an initial point of contact. The software is easy to use and you can rely on it for various purposes. This machinery is particularly effective for 3D systems – it prevents the occurrence of tool deflection, allowing your product to last longer.

Our Mill-it range of products offer suitability for a variety of customer needs and requirements, however, if you’re looking for something that offers accuracy, you’ve come to the right place. Our mini Mill-it CNC systems are more precise than our other products, this is because they can transfer movements to prevent the tool bending. If you have specific requirements when it comes to precision, you’re in look!

Our machines have been designed to have either 1 or 3 phases. Despite the fact that the milling system from Stoney CNC is only small, our Mill-it CNC system still performs to the highest quality possible! This CNC system is highly desirable if you’re wanting to create rigidity.

As an alternative, we offer the Mill-it mega CNC system, it provides high performance which is fast and accurate. This milling machine is specifically useful for milling aluminium and plastic, however where it once would’ve bent the tool, you can now do this with ease and reassurance. The speed that the Mega system performs at is extremely high, you can rely on it to get things done in an efficient manner.

As excellent machinists go, we at Stoney CNC believe that eyes and ears are what’s most important when preventing tool deflection

CNC Machining is used alongside your attention to detail, to reduce tool deflection, eliminating any weaknesses that may be present.

We are specialists when it comes to stocking the most effective and efficient products. Understandably you want to buy your CNC equipment that doesn’t weaken tools once they’ve been milled. At Stoney CNC, we allow you to create designs that you’ve always dreamed of, don’t miss out on our highly-effective equipment today!
